Maria do Céu Whitaker Poças is a stunning singer songwriter whose pure voice connects bossa, electronica, samba and dub and has made here the biggest selling Brazilian recording artist in the UK.
Céu captivated the world with her self-titled debut album in 2008. Céu earned both Grammy and Latin Grammy nominations, countless press accolades, and chart topping numbers.
Céu’s fresh electropical sound is emblematic of her hometown Sao Paulo, the intensely urban, forward-looking megalopolis of the tropics, the epicentre of the independent music scene in Brazil and a buzzing hotbed of invention and musical breakthrough.
Opening the show is the funky upbeatness of Curumin and his samba soul. From the same Sao Paulo electro-dance scene as CSS and Telepathique he knows how to get any party started.
A night of the best of new Brazilian music presented on tour by La Linea – The Latin Music Festival with support from Arts Council of England.
