Mexican Independence Day returns to Electric Brixton on 15 September for a special night of celebration.

Featuring live performances from all female mariachi group Las Adelitas, salsa and cumbia from Conjunto Sabroso, traditional Mexican dancers and, of course, El Grito, the battlecry of Mexican Independence. Mexican food is available from Mestizo outlets in the venue and Mexican beer and tequila from the venue’s many bars.

Covid 19 Measures

The Mexican Independence Day Party is fully compliant with all government Covid 19 legal requirements and safety is the priority of the venue and promoters.

At the point of show announcement on 28 July the following measures are in place:

All attenders at the venue will be temperature checked and required to sanitise hands on arrival. All venue staff are wearing masks and are asked to take two lateral flow tests a week prior to starting work.

Masks are not required to be worn by attenders but you can if you wish. The venue is implementing new enhanced cleaning procedures.

Sanitising stations are located in the toilet areas and employees can be asked to access additional sanitiser which is available behind all service areas and security points.

We will not be asking you to prove that you have been vaccinated, had Covid in the past or a proof of a negative test. We recommend that you test on a regular basis and, if you feel unwell, please do not attend the venue and put others at risk.

The venue is not enforcing social distancing. Additional areas are being created at the front of the venue for those who smoke or need some fresh air.

The venue medic is on duty throughout opening time. If you become unwell at the venue then please head to the medic room located on the ground floor.

Where possible all transactions at the venue should be made by card to limit contact with cash transactions.

These Covid 19 arrangements may change before the event in accordance with future government directives and if so will be updated here and on the venue’s website.
