A rare London show for Mexican Institute of Sound and full band celebrating 20 years of invention.

Mexico City-based producer Camilo Lara creates irresistible beats for the global dance floor with his project: Mexican Institute of Sound. Cumbia is just one ingredient but its flavour rubs off on everything else in the mix.

His music has been featured in Narcos, Breaking Bad, Y tu Mamá También, Vacation Friends, Mosquito Coast, Californication and Ugly Betty, to name a few. He also leads Mexrrissey – the Mexstatic take on the music of Morrissey and The Smiths. He hosts his own radiostation, EastLos FM, on the best-selling game of all time: Grand Theft Auto V.

Camilo won a Grammy for producing the score and soundtrack for Alfonso Cuaron’s Y tu mama también. Camilo created the incidental music and was the musical consultant for Pixar’s Coco (where he even had a cartoon cameo!) and all seasons of Narcos Mexico. He was part of the music teams for Thor: Love and Thunder and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

“Cutting the high-octane pace from dance with energetically proud Mexican flavours is a fierce combination” Clash.

“Nuts, quite frankly, and probably the most fun you can have without removing your poncho.” The Word

“Can’t stop listening to his frazzled mariachi remake of The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony’. It’s Amazing” Dazed & Confused

“Camilo is a Real Connoisseur of music who knows about all kind of weird stuff” Mike D (Beastie Boys)

“The Mexican Herb Alpert”  Ed O ́Brien (Radiohead)
