Nortec Collective presents: Bostich & Fussible
Nortec Collective members Bostich & Fussible mix electronica with the musical elements and instrumentation of Tambora and Norteño music, creating the nortec (“norteño” + “techno”) style. Mexican music pioneers, they fuse the brassy indigenous Tijuana sound with 21st century technology, taking the traditional horns and accordion of Norteño and kicking it into a new level.
Bostich & Fussible produced the music for the latest Cirque Du Soleil show Luzia in 2016. Their last two London shows were with Carlos Vives at The Royal Albert Hall in June 2016 and as part of the Mexican Wrestling extravaganza, Lucha Future, at the same venue in 2015.
“Tijuana’s Nortec Collective do for Mexican folk music what Gotan Project did for tango, giving it an electronic makeover with a stylish, cinematic sweep…The two principal members incorporate the funky accordion rhythms with swooning ballads, Mariachi trumpets and a touch of ska, creating an elegantly propulsive summer driving soundtrack.” The Telegraph
