Sierra Maestra
In the La Linea opening night tradition of filling the dancefloor like only Latin Music can. Sierra Maestra kick started the Cuban son revival back in the 80s as a group of Havana students. The group gave Juan de Marcos Gonzalez his grounding in the string and percussion roots of Cuban music before he took flight with Buena Vista and the Afro Cuba All Stars and today Sierra Maestra keep the acoustic flame burning on a rare London visit. The Electric Ballroom with its 50s deco and a sprung wooden floor is the perfect venue and, to get you in the swing, at 7.30pn there is a Cuban salsa class.
All tickets £12 in advance.
