Enter the world of tango diva Violetta, a singer who lives out her dreams in the Milongas of Buenos Aires. This is a fully staged evening of specially arranged tangos, popular opera, dance and musical numbers in London’s oldest and most beautiful music hall.

Ann Liebeck sings Violetta alongside contemporary dancer Nuno Queimado, with a virtuoso tango band led by Cuban violinist Omar Puente and featuring star bandoneon player Julian Rowlands of Midnight Tango (Olivier award-nominated with Tango Siempre) and top bass player Tom Mason. Champion tango dancers Miriam Orcutt & Dante Culcuy will be performing with choreography by David Benitez, Katherine Codogno, Nuno Silva and Benny Maslov.

Violetta is an ageing singer in a Buenos Aires Milonga. Although she is sick, she still comes to entertain clients with her tango songs. One night, sitting alone in the bar after an encounter in the street, she is overwhelmed by vivid memories of her youth and the young man with whom she was in love. She sent him away because of the jealous passion of bandleader, Jorge. Her past comes back to haunt her through the music and dance she loves, and she loses herself in her dreams as she wanders the streets and milongas in search of her long lost love. She revives just in time for the milonga to begin.
