La Linea Festival presents GRAMMY-winning artist Lila Downs, performing music from her new album, Cambias mi Mundo.
Multi-GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter Lila Downs is one of Mexico’s most celebrated artists. Drawing on rancheras, boleros, cumbia, jazz and Mexican folk traditions, she sings in Spanish, English and several Indigenous Mexican languages. Her songs explore identity, migration and social justice, and she has collaborated with artists including Mercedes Sosa, Norah Jones, Santana and Natalia Lafourcade. Her music also featured on the soundtrack to the acclaimed film Frida.
For this concert, Downs performs music from her latest album, Cambias mi Mundo (You Change My World), alongside songs from across her career. Her newest work places a greater focus on her own song-writing, with acoustic arrangements that draw on the Mexican musical traditions at the heart of her music.
